Kainebi Osahenye, born 1964 in Agbor, Delta State, Nigeria. He studiedat the Auchi Polytechnic, Auchi, Edo State and Yaba College of Technology,Lagos, majoring i n Painting in 1989. In 2012, he received a Master’s of FineArts (M FA) from Goldsmiths, University of London, London, UK.Osahenye works across a variety of mediums which includes painting,sculpture, installation, drawing and collage. He has used assortment ofbasic materials to address issues about life, spirituality, consumerism, identityand the environment. He is reputed to transform simple objects into intricate,sometimes monumental art works which calls for our attention.Osahenye has had residencies at th e School of Visual Arts in NY, NewYork and Vermont Studio Center, Vermont, USA. He lives and works in Lagos,Nigeria.
