Originally from Côte d'Ivoire and Senegal, the self-taught artist was born in 1999. Punctuated by stays in West Africa, DJI’s journey takes him to Montreal, Canada, where he currently lives.

Through his work, DJI questions the origins of the surrealist movement to which he identifies. His practice revolves around narrative. Based on an elaborate sketch, he lets his imagination run wild and cohabits on the same canvas, ancestral stories, individual or collective present and dreams of the future.
